From our blushing bride…
“We never really had a specific theme in mind, but looking back, I suppose “natural beauty” is the best way to describe what we wanted to convey. Living in Colorado, we are surrounded by natural beauty, so an outdoor ceremony was a given. For the reception, we let gorgeous flowers and natural wood set the tone. We used soft colors and gold accents to bring a certain level of elegance to the reception. My mom and I had a great time dreaming up the little details that brought it to life. She did so much by hand—from sewing lace table runners to building a huge seating display out of wood, chicken wire, and clothespins. I could hardly believe how beautifully it all came together.
Our ceremony was held at the top of Vail Mountain in Colorado. It was raining when 3pm came, but we decided to move forward with having the ceremony on time. Like magic, the rain started to let up a little more as each bridesmaid, then the flower girl, made her way down the aisle. When it was my turn to walk with my dad, the rain stopped, the clouds broke, and the sun burst through. It was one of those once in a lifetime moments that I never, ever want to forget.
Our whole team was incredible. Being food people, we wanted the food at our wedding to be memorable. Blackbelly Catering ensured that this would be the case with a fun and delicious family style meal and awesome desserts to supplement our Megan Joy cake. And that cake! Trust me, you can’t do better than a Megan Joy cake. Liz and her team at Cori Cook did the most amazing job with our flowers. Our bouquets, boutonnieres, ceremony flowers, and reception table arrangements were all even more gorgeous than I had dared to imagine. I absolutely loved the way my hair turned out, thanks to Eileen Kantor. Fred at Great Times DJ really understood what we were looking for and did a killer job with the music all day. Jennifer Ballard captured our day in photographs so beautiful that we’ve probably looked through them a hundred times already! Last but certainly not least, Calluna Events made sure the whole day went off without a single hitch.”
