Heather,
I’ve just been looking at the amazing pictures James took of Jessica’s and Jeff’s wedding and reliving every second of the journey. There are so many things that I want to thank you for that an email just doesn’t seem sufficient.
Thank you for taking me aside Saturday and telling me to relax and leave everything to you. That from that moment on, I was a guest. Thank you for telling me to take a moment, step aside and take it all in. I hope that this is something that you routinely tell the mother of the bride because it was absolutely the best advice I could have received. It was a whirlwind of a weekend and I don’t think I could have locked those memories in my mind without those words. I have a clear picture of the ceremony — hearing “Somewhere in Time” played as Brent and I walked down the aisle, watching Jessica approach with her dad, hearing Richard’s words and seeing how Jeff looked into Jessica’s eyes. Having that moment to see the Gold Room before it came alive with people was something that I would not have thought of. It was so special and was as beautiful as Jessica imagined it would be. Every detail was captured.
Everyone was so happy at the cocktail party — I can still see the faces of our family and friends and when they entered the Gold Room, everyone was in awe of the way the room glowed and began moving to the sound of the band. These are only a few of the moments that I will never forget. But what I remember most was how happy Jessica and Jeff looked throughout the evening.
Over the last couple of weeks, so many people have asked me how the wedding went and the only word I can use to describe it is “perfect”. I can’t think of a word that better describes the event and my personal experience. I hardly saw you or Gabby during the event but know you were working invisibly behind the scenes to make sure every detail was handled to perfection. If there were any hiccups along the way, I wasn’t aware of them. You and Gabbie pulled off a seamless event and made sure that everyone had the time of their lives.
I can’t thank you enough for everything you have done for us. You are just fabulous and I am thankful that you and Jessica are friends.
Warmly,
Merrily
