Here at Calluna we are always looking for ways to highlight and honor some of the amazing creative partners we get to work with. We feel incredibly fortunate to work with some seriously talented vendors in the industry, and we want to show them off to you in our new Calluna Community Series! We will sit down with some of the fabulous venues and vendors of Colorado and get to know about them, their business and what life is like behind the scenes. Stay tuned for more!

This week for Calluna Community we caught up with Daylene at Three Peaks Ranch! Three Peaks Ranch is a new venue in Westcliffe, Colorado, and is serious mountain magic!

Three Peaks Ranch is a Colorado Wedding Venue in a small old western town called Westcliffe. We have an 85 acre horse ranch with sweeping meadows that rise to the base of three fourteen thousand foot peaks. Our buildings are hand designed by local Denver Architect Karen Sund and the Amish community in Westcliffe has hand built them all. Our lodging is included in your venue rental package and can accommodate 6-8 guests overnight. We have state of the art glamping tents, each with their own bathroom and hot water showers, wood stove, deck and fireplace. There is a gathering space with panorama windows onto the mountains and a stunning indoor outdoor dining pavilion with a fireplace. Our goal is to provide a true Colorado experience that you and your guests will never forget.

Our dream project would be a couple that are seeking to have a weekend retreat experience. We would love to have the guests and family stay from Friday to Sunday and be relaxed and refreshed after their wedding. Having weddings where people want to enjoy the peace and quiet, gaze at the stars, hike and really enjoy the beauty that Westcliffe offers is our dream. We hope to provide 10-20 glamping tents for guests to stay over night and also to add hot water soaking tubs to make their stay even more relaxing.

Our favorite part of any wedding is not only celebrating such a special time but seeing all the creativity that each couple brings and how they use and enjoy our space.

Mornings at the ranch are very quiet, even mornings before the wedding day. We make sure that all of our spaces are clean and beautiful and ready for you to enjoy, and that the ranch is open for vendors and guests to access. We allow access on your wedding at noon so you can relax and enjoy while you get ready for the big day. Personally, my morning routine involves being woken up too early by my two darling daughters, making them breakfast and trying to enjoy my coffee before another hectic day begins!

We have some very creative couples! One of our favorite new trends is the beer burro, we are so excited to see these cute fuzzy creatures at some of our weddings this summer. Another trend we love is the mobile bars in remodeled horse trailers.

I love being outside, recreating. Mountain Biking, Hiking, Snowboarding, Rock climbing, Rafting, Fly Fishing! I rarely get to do those activities these days since we have two small girls but we are really enjoying teaching them to love the outdoors and it is so much fun to share our love of recreating with them.

Probably an Old Fashioned or a Margarita but I’m an equal opportunity drinker 😉

Jen + Joe | Winter Wonderland Wedding at Devil’s Thumb Ranch

Jen and Joe wed on the second day of November at the iconic Devil’s Thumb Ranch up the road from Winter Park. The two romantics planned their intimate affair for 75 with moody tones, unexpected textures and cozy personalized details.

Upon arrival, guests were greeted with spiked hot coco and bundled under blankets to witness J + J vow to forever. Post ceremony, the newlyweds had the most magical sunset session with the horses of the ranch – our beautiful bride, adorned with a trend worthy wide brimmed hat and a cozy fur jacket was a true vision. Paired with a fresh dusting of November snow, we’ve never seen more a winter wonderland. Meanwhile at cocktail hour, Leia the Beer Burro made a surprise appearance, offering chilled brews and nose snuggles with plenty of photo ops. Wedding celebrations continued in the historic Broad Axe Barn, complete with twinkle lights, customized taper candles and beautiful farm tables featuring arrangements of figs and florals.

The day was filled with intentional details and meaningful personalizations – like how Jen refurbished Joe’s late father’s car from the 70s and surprised her almost-husband rolling up to their first look in style. At it’s core, the wedding was perfectly them and we’re honored to have planned alongside them for such a special occasion.

Katie + Chris | Romantic Summer Devil’s Thumb Ranch Wedding

We absolutely adored working with Katie, Chris, and Katie’s parents Karen and Bill on their wedding at Devil’s Thumb Ranch! From the first consultation call with Katie we felt a true connection. We also had the opportunity to combine Katie’s non-traditional approach with her mother’s traditional southern roots and it was such a fun experience create! From tropical florals with a rustic twist, provided by The Perfect Petal, to the replica grooms cake of their airstream trailer, provided by Devil Thumb’s Ranch Pastry Team, every detail was truly unique and special!

Hannah + Will | Gorgeous Ranch Wedding

Hannah + Will’s wedding at the Lucky 8 Ranch in Steamboat Springs was one for the books! Their wedding was the second wedding held there – after the owner’s son, and we feel so grateful to have worked here! The ranch was a dream, and lent itself perfectly for the beautiful lounges that Eclectic Hive brought in. Guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the lawn until they were brought into the tent for the reception. A large organic floral installation hung above the head table, and made it feel as if Hannah and Will were dining in their own private garden as they overlooked the dance floor and the band.

Lale Florals provided the beautiful, delicate florals and brought enough to fill a vintage truck bed that acted as a photobooth backdrop for Hannah + Will’s guests. After dinner, the dancing began and the crowd was energized all night by the musicians of Midnight Social.

For a night cap the s’mores lounge area opened up for guests to enjoy their MYO s’mores before moving onto the after party! Hannah took the time to pull us aside during her reception to thank us, and said she was having a hard time finding words to describe the night – saying it was magical – and we couldn’t agree more. We absolutely loved working with Hannah and Will to make their wedding dreams come alive, and we had the absolute best friendor team to pull it off!

Ashley + Ethan | Camp Hale Vail Wedding

Ashley + Ethan said “I do” at the beautiful Camp Hale in August. Ashley and her Calluna planner Kristen went to college together, so we were thrilled when she trusted Calluna to help with the planning. The day began with the gals getting ready in their gorgeous suite at The Arabelle, and the Fluff team made the ladies look their absolute best.

After Ashley stepped into her stunning Rosa Clara gown, she was ready to see her groom for the first time during their first look on the water at Camp Hale…cue the tears! Ashley and Ethan were surrounded by 120 of their closest friends and family who witnessed their vows while the father of the groom delivered a beautiful ceremony. Gusts of wind made for quite the dramatic entrance for Ashley while she walked down the aisle. The weather turned quickly, and the sun popped out for the most stunning cocktail hour where guests enjoyed the perfect summer evening with signature cocktails and lawn games.

After dinner, guests were treated to some of the most heartfelt and creative speeches we have ever seen. The Maid of Honor rocked it with a tribute to her and Ashley’s friendship that involved, song, dance and other guests getting up and dancing with umbrellas! Best Man and Father of the Bride brought us to tears, and the love for the newlyweds was tangible.

Cake, Macaroons and an EPIC dance party thanks to Raising Cain made this wedding one for the books. We are honored and thrilled to have been a part of this joyous celebration.
