Colorado Venue Alert | Western Meets Modern in a Boutique Hotel

Last month we had the pleasure and privilege to be hosted by The Wyman Hotel, a boutique hotel in the southwestern town of Silverton, Colorado. You might have seen this well designed destination on your feed – the trendy pops of pink and modern lines are immediately insta-worthy. What’s better? They’re officially kicking of their wedding program and we’re here to tell you: don’t sleep on this sleepy town.

The small town of Silverton is nestled in Southwest Colorado, just over the hill (also known as the million dollar highway) past Ourey and a stone’s throw from Durango. The historic mining town is known for its Wild West Charm both in the past (western classics were regularly filmed here) and present (put the Friday Eve in-town gun fight theatrics on your agenda) as well as unparalleled access to Colorado’s adventure filled backyard. Can you think of a better place to escape to tie the knot?! Us either.

The makers behind The Wyman describe it as “a 1902 landmark building which has been reimagined with the comforts and amenities of an urban boutique hotel and is a welcoming, thoughtfully appointed space, perfect for artists, creatives, and adventurers.” We couldn’t come up with a better description if we tried. Each detail was perfectly in place, making our stay feel both comfortable and inspired. Pair that with the incredible hospitality and warmth from owners Haley, Shane and their intimate team –– we didn’t want to say goodbye.

We love The Wyman for our couples who are craving a destination wedding with a twist. The team encourages full buyouts of the this 16 room hotel (sleeping 52 total, complete with a bunkroom) to maximize the experience and to really treat your guests (and yourselves!) to an experience unlike many other. The outside courtyard is an idyllic landing pad for your ceremony & cocktail hour before welcoming your guests into the main dining room, a blank canvas intentionally set to welcome distinctive design styles. With the entire hotel as your playground, you can pair the existing modern decor with your personal preferences. Bringing in your own vendors like your catering team, decor team and a killer photo/video team to capture the weekend’s festivities allows you to cater your weekend exactly how you’d like to see it.

We were lucky enough to be among some wonderful industry company to enjoy a dinner celebration first hand. Kept intentionally small to follow state and national COVID precautions, we fell even more in love with this space for a micro-wedding or celebration that will continue to trend into 2021 and beyond.
