We’ve seen our fair share of DIY, private residence weddings, but we’ve never seen anything like the organic, personal, beautiful, backyard bash that Kate & Greg threw over the cloudless skies last weekend. Every last detail was thoughtfully selected to represent the couple and their love which made the day extraordinarily meaningful.
Bursting at the seams with personal touches, our duo had it all: a large grassy venue in the back of the bride’s father’s home for lawn games, dancing & an intimate ceremony site, a modern getaway tent we dubbed the “herbal sanctuary”, hand- drawn artwork from a friend that was illustrated on their wedding invites, and (our favorite!!) florals that had actually been grown, harvested, & loved on by the bride herself!
In a tear eyed ceremony, Kate and Greg were married by Greg’s father, only after proclaiming their love through the loveliest exchange of vows. The couple, family, and friends ate, drank, and danced the night away… and we couldn’t be happier for them.
It didn’t hurt we had a rockstar group of vendors helping us out. Blackbelly, as always, stole the show as guests munched (and later danced) away to the rich sounds of The Fever. Rebecca Caridad of Manzanita snapped every picture perfect moment (because believe me, every moment was picture perfect), and Flora By Nora forraged and arranged the stunning hand grown florals into the most beautifully wild bouquets. We loved having our VW Vintage ShutterBus stop by, and the rentals by PearTree and Long Ago Love completed the backyard feel. We finished up with delicious dairy free cupcakes by Kim & Jakes Cakes and bid adieu to one of our favorite weddings of the season!!
