As much as we love a warm summer wedding, we have a soft spot here at Calluna for a magical Winter wedding. Living in Colorado, we are blessed and fortunate to be surrounded by spectacular nature that manages to look even more beautiful when covered in sparkling snow. Winter weddings are gorgeous, but there are most definitely some things to keep in mind when planning a winter soiree! We hope you enjoy our tips & tricks for planning a Winter wedding!
Enjoy! Xo, Calluna
Embrace the Winter Fashion :: Winter weddings can be truly magical, and here at Calluna we are big fans since we get to plan so many fabulous mountain weddings. One of our favorite parts of a winter wedding are the endless opportunities to make some seriously fabulous fashion statements. Just because its cold outside doesn’t mean you can’t rock your dream dress. Everything can be made perfect with some stunning accessories and we love a bride & groom that embrace the season! We adored Abby’s glamorous fur shall at her and Sean’s Vail wedding last winter at the Sonnenalp Hotel. For more pictures of their festive soiree click here!

Keep your Guests Cozy :: A winter wedding has endless potential to be elegant and welcoming, and your guests will appreciate the little things you do to keep them comfortable. If any portion of your ceremony or reception is outside, treat your guests to a warm blanket or something festive like a hot cider station before you walk down the aisle. We are still obsessing over Meshach & Warren’s Dunton Hot Springs nuptials, it was winter wonderland meets total glam. They warmed their guests up at their intimate ceremony with plush blankets and it was an absolute hit. For more photos of their gorgeous Winter bash click here!

Set the Scene :: The Holidays are the perfect time to experiment with festive decor and gorgeous table settings. We have LOVED designing some seriously intimate and romantic celebrations over the years, and we believe a winter wedding means endless opportunities for stunning decor. Just because it’s the Holidays doesn’t mean you need to stick to traditional Holiday colors and patterns. We adored Yasmin & Chris’ use of greenery and candles to create an intimate setting at their winter wedding at the Sonnenalp! For more pictures from their stunning winter bash click here!
Meshach and Warren also had an amazing vision for their winter festivities and we are still swooning over their perfect decor. The attention to detail from the Dunton staff, the incredible food, our dream team of vendors, the ambiance, the weather that was timed so perfectly… all of our hard work came together so seamlessly and with such ease. It’s weekends like that that make us so much more grateful and honored to do what we do.
