When your wedding venue has been part of your family’s story for decades, it becomes so much more than a beautiful place to get married.
For America, The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs wasn’t simply the setting for her wedding day; it was a second home. After years of family vacations and cherished memories at the iconic resort, no other venue could compare. So when it came time to celebrate the beginning of their own marriage, America and Jordan invited their 60 closest family members and friends to experience one of the places that has always meant the most to them.
The result was a wedding weekend that perfectly blended timeless Broadmoor elegance with bold color, high fashion, and playful experiences inspired by the Met Gala.
A Welcome Party That Broke Every Wedding Weekend Rule
America and Jordan wanted the weekend to feel less like a traditional wedding and more like an unforgettable celebration with the people they love most.
Instead of beginning with a formal cocktail party, guests headed to Play at The Broadmoor for an evening of bowling, laughter, and nostalgia. As a couple who frequently bowls together, America surprised every guest with custom bowling shirts; a thoughtful keepsake that immediately made everyone feel part of the celebration.
The venue came alive with vibrant florals, sparkling disco balls, and playful details that introduced the colorful design story guests would continue to experience throughout the weekend.
It was the perfect reminder that luxury weddings don’t have to take themselves too seriously.

A Bride Who Had Never Been to a Wedding
One of the most refreshing parts of planning with America was that she had never attended a wedding before planning her own.Without expectations or traditions influencing her decisions, every idea started with one simple question:
“Do we love it?”
That freedom allowed us to create a wedding that felt entirely personal. Rather than recreating trends or following convention, America and Jordan designed an experience that reflected their personalities from beginning to end.
Their guiding inspiration became a Met Gala Spring Extravaganza. A celebration where fashion, art, color, and creativity all took center stage. Guests weren’t simply invited to attend the wedding, they were encouraged to become part of the artwork themselves.

Fashion Worthy of the Red Carpet
The fashion was every bit as intentional as the floral design.
America wore a breathtaking fully beaded Netta Benshabu gown while her bridesmaids donned custom-designed dresses embellished with crystals and floral appliqués that beautifully echoed the intricate beadwork of the bride’s gown. Guests embraced the black-tie dress code with enthusiasm, arriving in bold colors, dramatic silhouettes, and statement looks worthy of the evening’s Met Gala inspiration.
The result was a celebration where every photograph felt like it belonged on the pages of a fashion editorial.

A Ceremony Framed by the Rocky Mountains
Set beside the lake at The Broadmoor, the ceremony embraced the natural beauty Colorado is known for. A lush floral arch framed America and Jordan as they exchanged vows with the mountains rising behind them, creating an elegant focal point without competing with the incredible landscape.
Although intimate with only 60 guests, every design decision felt grand. Vibrant florals carried throughout the ceremony space, welcome cocktails reflected the wedding’s carefully curated color palette, and even the flowers placed within The Broadmoor’s fountain tied seamlessly into the overall design.
One of the day’s most meaningful moments came as Jordan’s sisters performed the ceremony music, adding an emotional layer that couldn’t have been replicated any other way.

Turning Cocktail Hour Into an Interactive Experience
Inside Pompeian Hall, the wedding’s colorful personality continued to unfold. Inspired by the room’s iconic red wallpaper, we leaned into rich crimson tones with a custom red bar by House of Wild featuring beautiful poppy detailing that looked as though it had always belonged within the historic Broadmoor.
One of the most memorable guest experiences came through the custom seating chart installation created by Paper and Dust. Rather than functioning solely as seating assignments, the rotating panels doubled as an oversized art installation and red-carpet backdrop where guests stopped throughout cocktail hour to take photos before entering dinner. It perfectly captured the spirit of the evening: functional, artistic, and completely immersive.
Guest Experiences That Made the Celebration Feel Personal
Every corner of the wedding offered guests something unexpected. During cocktail hour, one of the most sentimental displays quietly honored the generations before America and Jordan. America’s mother’s wedding gown was beautifully displayed as a tribute to the marriage that helped shape her own understanding of love and family. It was a reminder that while the wedding embraced modern creativity, it remained deeply rooted in tradition and legacy.
A bit later in the night, a live tattoo artist invited guests to choose from a collection of custom flash tattoos, available as either permanent or temporary artwork, creating one of the evening’s biggest conversation pieces.

Old-World Elegance Meets Vibrant Spring Color
Inside the ballroom, the reception celebrated everything that makes The Broadmoor such an iconic luxury wedding venue while introducing a fresh, colorful perspective. A custom white bar with ornate gold detailing echoed the hotel’s historic architecture, while oversized papier-mâché flowers bursting with vibrant color transformed it into a dramatic focal point.
Towering floral installations framed each side of the bar, creating incredible scale throughout the room. The custom DJ booth mirrored the ornate detailing before giving way to a vivid orange stage that naturally drew guests onto the dance floor throughout the evening. Tables featured gilded chargers, elegant flatware, layered linens, and lush floral arrangements by Amy Lauren Floral Design that balanced timeless sophistication with playful spring color.
Every detail honored the grandeur of The Broadmoor while still feeling unmistakably modern.

A Celebration That Never Slowed Down
There wasn’t a single quiet moment all evening.
Guests moved effortlessly between cocktails, tattoos, dancing, photographs, and conversations that stretched late into the night. The atmosphere felt less like a formal reception and more like an immersive celebration where every experience invited guests to participate. That joy was a direct reflection of America and Jordan.
They approached every planning meeting with trust, excitement, and a willingness to dream bigger. Their kindness made the creative process incredibly rewarding, and together we created a wedding that felt fearless, deeply personal, and completely unforgettable.
For us, that’s always the goal.
Not simply creating a beautiful wedding, but creating an experience that feels like no one else’s. Because the most memorable celebrations aren’t built around tradition. They’re built around the people whose story they’re telling.
