A Gorgeous Colorado Ranch Wedding with a Cowboy Disco Welcome Party!

Jack and Danika’s wedding was a highlight of our summer! Their wedding was our second on the beautiful Evans Ranch, Jack’s parent’s property. We were fortunate to have planned Jack’s sister Anna’s wedding to Sam last summer at the same ranch.

The weekend started out with a Cowgirl Disco a nod to the ranch and setting but also to Danika’s love of ABBA. Guests embraced the theme and dressed in a mix of cowboy/girl and disco. Guests were welcomed at Ranch Headquarters which was transformed into a rodeo disco theme from Eclectic Hive complete with a light-up LED dance floor, disco balls hanging from the ceiling, and sparkling cowboy hats as a backdrop for our DJ hybrid from Great Family Artists. A tent from our friends at Sperry Colorado off the back side of the barn contained guest seating and lounges.

Gorgeous florals complimented the rustic tables, lounges, bars from The Perfect Petal. And in quintessential welcome party style, Blackbelly provided a gorgeous BBQ. Our photo team of Abby Jiu and Fidelis Flims captured the evening perfectly. Although rains came in and we had to shift some of the plans, it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits – the dance floor was packed.

The wedding day started at Jack’s parents’ home on property with hair and makeup from our friends at Jones Beauty. Their ceremony took place in the exact same spot as Jack’s sisters wedding the year prior so it holds a very special place for the family and now for Jack and Danika. Jack and Danika stood in front of a stunning colorful arch.

Finding ways to infuse a couples personality and passion into their weddings intentionally is one of our favorite things when working with our couples! When we first met Danika + Jack they shared their love of books and reading!

We were particularly fond of Danika’s love of ACOTAR + HP series and our brains started working on ways we could incorporate this throughout the wedding designs! Enter our super creative friends at Lucky Onion who tied books and reading into every element of the day-of-paper. Guests found their seats by looking at a custom library, featuring bound books by last name. This beautiful and interactive library also featured a hand-illustrated painting of Evans Ranch which was included in their wedding invitations. Place cards were combined with menus and included a gorgeous keepsake bookmark, and the table numbers were also “books” that guests could open and read.

A final detail we LOVED was Danika + Jack asked their guests to bring a favorite book so they could build their library from books gifted at their wedding!

Several days of installation was needed to construct the tented reception in a field on the property at Evans Ranch. Our friends and decor partner, Eclectic Hive, brought Danika’s vision to life within the tent with hanging lanterns, colorful linens, and stunning table tops, plus lounges throughout the space.

Once again we worked with Dart collective, one of our favorite groups out of California for their band and they kept guests on the dance floor all night!
