Xo, Calluna
- Intimate Destinations
Couples are cutting back their guest lists and investing more in creating a magical experience for their family and friends! As Colorado is such a hotspot for destination weddings in general, we’re excited to design several small and intimate weddings this season that are truly #dinnerpartygoals!
- Pretty Patterns
While neutrals will always be beautiful, we are seeing more brides excited about playing with different patterns! A patterned tablecloth, napkin or plate can add a fun touch while still remaining timeless.
- Effortless Elegance
One common theme that our brides keep coming back to is for their special day to look effortlessly elegant. Think natural, organic greenery and florals paired with lots of minimal decor. Guests walking into this wedding design will immediately feel at ease!
- White on White
Crisp and clean is trending for 2018! Lots of white on white, including white bridesmaid dresses, white tablecloths, napkins, plates, etc. allow for a very sleek look. To make this design pop, add a bright touch of color in just one small element!
- Velvet Darling!
This is one trend that every single planner on the Calluna team is obsessed with! Velvet elements such as table linens, napkins, bowties, gowns, invitation suite details, and more bring an elevated, luxe feel to each design.
- Daily Style as Wedding Style
We’re seeing brides move away from picking a specific theme for their wedding, and focusing more on making their day truly feel like them. Our planners work with all of our couples to get a sense of who they are in their everyday life. What do they wear? How is their home designed? What art are they drawn to? What are their hobbies? These are the questions we ask in order to design their wedding to reflect them!
- Sun and Moon and Stars
Couples are loving elements related to astrology and the stars. We had a wedding this past Fall use tarot cards for their escort card display, and another wedding coming up with a theme related to the full moon.
- Marble and Geometrics
Marble elements and geometric shapes are fantastic for modern weddings! We’re seeing this trend for stylish tablescapes and in venues that are more industrial.
- Keep It Casual
Couples are foregoing formal dress style and formal traditions to make their day their own! This year many of our groom and groomsmen are ditching the suit jacket in favor of suspenders and opting for fabrics like tweed and linen over a formal tux.
