Autumn brings a whole new set of gorgeous decor ideas – from warm tones to bold textures to earthy florals, moody lighting and more – we can’t get enough! We’re excited to share some of our favorite themes, trends and tones from this season’s design inspiration in hopes that you love them, too!!
Xoxo, Calluna
COLOR
Fall is the season of color! Don’t feel a need to shy away from the rich autumn tones, now is the time to really lean into your color story and help incorporate it into the story of your day. Whether you choose moody and dark, bold reds and bright oranges, or deep jewel tones (the list goes on!), late summer through early winter weddings are the perfect time to experiment with anything to spark the fall feels. A special note that color doesn’t just mean flowers – you can bring the color story to life throughout a variety of details and textures throughout the day. See below for a few examples of Autumn-Inspired design weddings we loved – each a unique interpretation of the season’s offerings.
We love Alana + Ian’s October celebration for the perfect balance of the black candles, deep plums, emerald green bridesmaids dresses mixed with pops of pampas grass and peaches give dimension.

This Brush Creek wedding, on the other hand, took a different approach with the hero color of the season – burnt oranges and deep purples paired with coordinating candlelight to embrace the western feel of the venue. Equally stunning with a warmer palette!

A strong color story not your thing? Fear not. As much as we love color we equally swoon over the year-round craze of earthy and neutral tones. Organic blooms and bleached or dried details continue to trend even in the change of season, proving themselves a staple over the last few years. We are loving soft floral accents with soft and neutral tones mixed with warm autumn light, the perfect blend! We’ve seen beautiful interpretations of this style throughout the years – as recent as our wedding planner retreat at The Wyman Hotel.

We cannot get enough of this dreamy back-deck elopement. From the pops of color from the bright florals, the view of the gorgeous Breckenridge mountains to the gorgeous velvet chairs, this day was picture perfect. This design combines the natural beauty of the outdoors, warm autumn tones with a contrasting emerald palette that brings out all the true tones of Fall. These jewel hues and neutral tones are a pair that complement each other in the best way!

FLORALS
Let’s talk blooms! Although traditional flower arrangements will never lose its popularity, we love seeing unique variety in the blooms on the table. Want to play with leafy greens or accent with fruit or veggies? Let’s do it (plus one for a plum!!). Thinking of bold florals? Let’s pair those with corresponding deep-toned candles. The options are endless to express your personality through your floral decisions! A few of our swoon-worthy favorites are below:

LIGHTING
When the days get shorter, the lighting options get larger! In truth, we love a good lighting ambiance – and recommend investing some energy into how that will play a part in your day. Romantic string lights, Edison lights, chandeliers, lanterns – your options to set the autumn mood are endless.

COZY ACCENTS
There are so many opportunities throughout your wedding day to add thoughtful touches for a wonderful guest experience and also lend itself well to the design DNA. Lounge Sets are a go-to favorite to give a welcoming vibe and sophisticated design. Add some cozy pillows + throws with pops of color and you’ll achieve a warm, homey feel to your day.

SIGNAGE AND STATIONERY
Aside from the bold textures and tones trending in decor, day-of paper goods, and wedding invitations are following the same path. We have been loving the hints of rich emeralds, deep reds, and burnt orange in invitations and other stationery accents used throughout the wedding day – a continuation of everything surrounding the event.
