We're calluna

Esther + Robby reached out to Calluna Events in March of 2018 looking for a wedding planner for a Colorado wedding. Through a series of events they ended up working with me (Heather) and it was during this time they changed gears in their venue search and decided on Los Poblano’s Organic Lavender Farm in Albuquerque New Mexico. Esther had visited Los Poblano’s previously and loved the property and ironically some of my best friends in Boulder know the owners of Los Poblano’s and had been encouraging me to reach out and develop a relationship with them. I was so thrilled when they chose Los Poblanos because it’s such a special place.

Working with Esther + Robby and getting to know them was one of the highlights of my year. They are truly special people inside and out. I feel like we get close with all our couples but there are some that just feel like old friends and that was how it was with Esther and Robby. Early on we took a trip to Albuquerque to visit the venue and also met up with my friend and colleague Cameron Clark of Cameron Clark Photography to do an engagement session with Esther and Robby. We spent time together at the venue but also during their engagement shoot and that night at dinner and the planning sessions for destination weddings you really get to know your couples and I really enjoyed them both. Esther is so intelligent, funny, witty! Robby is equally as smart, adores Esther and I loved how he wanted the wedding to be very personal and unique to them so we added a laid back Brewery gathering the night before and a Burrito and Bloody mary Brunch the day after at a local Air B&B.

When the wedding weekend came around, watching Esther + Robby get married was like witnessing two friends get married! They are incredible people, both personally and professionally and they are so incredibly humble for how accomplished they are. If you don’t believe me you can read their New York Times Wedding Announcement. We loved the blending of cultures at their wedding, Esther is a Korean immigrant and Robby is an Alabama southerner. And we loved seeing their families and friends come together and really enjoy each other in a beautiful destination none of them would have previously considered traveling to. We adore Esther and Robby and hope you enjoy seeing these snippets into their day from Cameron Clark Photography.
