Julie and Paul just happened to be a picture perfect couple who got married on the picture perfect day, in a picture perfect setting. The sun was shining, the guests were happy, beautiful, emotional, and we knew we were fortunate enough to be a part of one of those “perfect weddings.”
Julie and Paul are the kind of people that you pretty much fall in love with right away. We fell in love with them and their story.
In Julie’s own words:
Paul and I met when we were 19. Both of us had managed to get the last seats on a group trip to Israel where we knew no one. After sleeping through my alarm on our first day there, Paul was the only smiling face as I stepped onto a bus of forty angry travelers. “Way to hold up the entire bus!” he yelled with a laugh. The rest of the trip was spent the same way: laughing and getting to know each other….
Seven years later, Paul and I got engaged while hiking through an aspen grove in Beaver Creek, Colorado. We knew we wanted to get married surrounded by that same beauty. We finally chose Frog Belly Farm, an organic working farm just outside of Boulder. We sourced as much food as possible from the farm and the rest of it was local to Colorado, even the beer! The setting was gorgeous, but that was all we had to work with. There was no power, no water, no bathrooms, and nearly no shelter… just a quaint little barn where we would take our vows.
With the help of an exceptional coordinator and a bit of creativity we managed to pull off our dream wedding, in spite of the venue’s lack of amenities. It was the perfect reflection of our love for Colorado, from the mountain backdrop to the delicious meal.

We made a wedding out of a working farm, bringing in our own power, restrooms and shelter while working with some of Colorado’s best wedding professionals to transform four separate spaces for their ceremony, cocktail hour, tented reception and post party!
