Kristen is the person on our team who makes everything run behind the scenes. That incredible blog post about floral trends, the Coffee With Calluna questions and adorable photo of a carefully curated coffee, the “likes”, comments and responses to comments on Instagram, and the hours of admin work, behind the scenes for our clients – transportation quotes, hotel blocks, rental changes, timeline updates, it’s all Kristen! Kristen has the thankless job (luckily we thank her ALL the time) of doing things that help so much but aren’t always seen. Recently Kristen is really stepping out and up and helping with event planning. She was our Owner Heather’s right hand gal during our 2-week out wedding with Sam + James and she single handedly planned Delaney’s Cuban themed graduation party this May. Let’s just say, if you are working on an event with us, chances are Kristen has helped. There’s nothing too large for Kristen to take on and we love that she is a “yes!” person. Ask her for help and she does it, no questions asked, no hesitation. We are so thankful for Kristen and know she’s going to be part of the Calluna crew for many years to come!
Kristen Kennedy is a San Francisco native, but Colorado lover. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado and an event enthusiast. After joining the team in 2015 as an intern, she was promoted to Event Assistant! Her love for weddings began with her favorite movie, “The Father of the Bride” and she truly believes no detail is too small! She loves the energy and excitement of any event, and thrives off of the happiness and satisfaction of the guests. She is our go to behind-the-scences gal and loves blogging for us on the Calluna blog!
A Little more about Kristen!
When not planning weddings you can find me…
I live in downtown Denver so I am always trying to find the best new spots to eat and drink. My wallet isn’t always happy, but I love exploring the awesome food scene in Denver. I like to run and box too, to burn off all of those food calories. 😉
My secret talent is…
Baking! There is nothing more relaxing to me than putting on some good music, lighting a candle and trying out a new recipe. Vanilla bean cheesecake is my specialty!
My favorite cocktail is…
A cold and very dry glass or champagne, a glass of pinot noir or if I’m feeling adventurous I’ll go for a cucumber gimlet!
My favorite place I have traveled is…
London will always have a special place in my heart (I studied abroad there in college,) but the most exotic and exciting place would definitely be Tanzania! I went there on a safari and the baby elephants will be something I will never forget. I am actually going back this summer to attempt to climb Mt. Kiliminjaro!
My top three wedding expenses would be…
- Food (your guests may not remember exactly what they ate, but they’ll remember how the food made them feel!)
- A good band or DJ! The key to a great party is great music and you want your guests out on the dance floor!
- A wedding planner (might be a little bit biased on this one, but for a completely stress free day, a planner is a must)
