Timeless Romantic Italian Wedding in Tuscany | Wedding Recap | Pia + Trevor
We are so thrilled to share the special details behind Pia & Trevor’s Tuscany wedding! Pia & Trevor worked along Calluna to find the perfect Tuscan villa to host their friends and family. We worked with Cuveé to find the perfect property outside the small town of Lucca, about an hour from Florence.
Set within a private 100-acre estate, Villa Luca was the perfect backdrop for their wedding celebration. It was truly Italian country living at its finest. With tree-lined paths through fragrant olive groves, a picturesque garden, and an expansive swimming pool overlooking the whole valley.
Pia & Trevor’s friends and family arrive at the garden for an intimate ceremony, filled with so much love, laughter, and sentimental moments that truly made guests feel their love. The floral statement piece by Flowers Living provided the most incredible backdrop for their “I Do’s.” Following the ceremony, guests made their way up to the pool for a lavish cocktail hour filled with oysters, bruschettas, Italian cheeses, and cured meats.
Guests then made their way back down to the garden where they enjoyed a 4-course meal by Rolands Catering, al fresco. Finally, guests made their way to the dance floor for an amazing night of dancing with music provided by the bride and groom’s good friend.
It was truly a night to remember and we can’t thank Pia & Trevor enough for trusting us to bring their Italian dream wedding to life!
Katie + Chris | Romantic Summer Devil’s Thumb Ranch Wedding
We absolutely adored working with Katie, Chris, and Katie’s parents Karen and Bill on their wedding at Devil’s Thumb Ranch! From the first consultation call with Katie we felt a true connection. We also had the opportunity to combine Katie’s non-traditional approach with her mother’s traditional southern roots and it was such a fun experience create! From tropical florals with a rustic twist, provided by The Perfect Petal, to the replica grooms cake of their airstream trailer, provided by Devil Thumb’s Ranch Pastry Team, every detail was truly unique and special!

Brooke + Sam’s Planet Bluegrass Wedding
Brooke + Sam had such a sweet and wonderful vision for their wedding at Planet Bluegrass this last Saturday! They truly were a wonderful couple to work with and we had the pleasure in helping bring their vision to life. An outdoor wedding in June in Colorado can sometimes be a little tricky to pull off. The weather is always changing and we often get small afternoon thunderstorm. With intense clouds hovering by, we managed to dodge the storm and the sun shone down on the beautiful couple!
The bride was picture perfect in her gorgeous dress, accompanied by a floral hair piece and incredible bouquet from Lale Florals. The bridesmaids wore different color dresses and were given bouquets to match.
The ceremony site was located next to the creek where guests could listen to the sounds of running water as Sam + Brooke said their vows beneath the birch tree Huppah that Lale decorated with bright and vibrant florals. One of the more incredible moments was when the clouds parted and sun shone through during the ceremony.
After the ceremony, guests mingled to the cocktail hour and enjoyed passed appetizers from A Spice of Life. When the cocktail hour commenced, guests were asked to find a seat beneath the trees at beautiful long tables decorated with fresh fruit and florals from Lale. Guests dined family style al fresco. The party then moved into the pavilion where guests enjoyed music from the eclectic and upbeat Mammarazzi Band! Another memorable moment of the night was when a groomsman joined the band onstage to partake in a song!
We can’t wait to see more photos from the talented Harper Point Photography. In the meantime, enjoy a few snaps from our iphones We want to say a very special congratulations to Brooke + Sam – you are truly wonderful and we wish you many years of happiness! xx, Calluna
Karen + Jeff had such a fun, welcoming vision for their wedding weekend and we absolutely loved being a part of the planning! Their venue was Brush Creek Ranch in Southwest Wyoming and it’s been a dream of ours for some time to work with them on a wedding. Set on 30,000 pristine private acres in the heart of the Platte River Valley and it offers guests the opportunity to experience the grandeur and adventure of the American West in sophisticated style. This luxury dude ranch provides an authentic taste of the best of the West where no detail is overlooked, the service was exceptional and guests are treated to the best wedding weekend!

A majority of guests arrived Thursday and enjoyed dinner and drinks at the Chuck Wagon. An old style saloon provided libations and games such as shuffleboard and pool. Guests wore western attire that really added to the atmosphere of fun! Never a shortage of s’mores, the property hosted numerous fire pits with all the accoutrements for s’mores. On Friday, guests had access to participate in various activities such as fly fishing, hiking, horseback riding, a ropes course, yoga and shooting guns at the gun range. There was not a single detail went unnoticed by the Brush Creek Ranch staff.
The Friday evening rehearsal dinner took place at Creekside, right along the Brush Creek. Guests were shuttled down to the river where they were greeted with a few signature cocktail options – a Moscow Mule and the choice of red or white wine. At the site, guests listened to bluegrass melodies from Masontown while they enjoyed a delicious dinner straight off of the grill and participated in activities like cattle wrangling, hatchet throwing and horseshoes.
The Saturday ceremony couldn’t have been more picturesque. The bride was stunning in a beautiful Jinza gown while the groom looked dapper in a navy suit. Karen’s bouquet from Perfect Petal was absolutely breathtaking!
The wind didn’t distract from the day and the clouds opened up just in time for the couple’s incredibly heartfelt vows. Guests then mingled at the main Lodge to enjoy libations and hors d’oeuvres at the cocktail hour.
Dinner was provided in the main lodge and guests dined on courses prepared by the incredible Brush Creek Ranch chefs. The calligraphy and paper goods provided by Whimsy Design Studio complimented the florals and table decor from The Perfect Petal.
A sparkler sendoff after the reception lead guests into the barn for some dancing and cocktails. Late night snacks of sliders, gourmet tator tots and an ice-cream bar were provided by the ranch, while tunes from Diamond Empire filled the barn.

Meshach + Warren’s Awe-Inspiring Dunton Hot Springs Wedding
There are some couples, some weddings, where the work isn’t work and by the time you get to the ceremony you feel as though you are watching two old, dear friends marry. Couples who make you want to go above and beyond every single minute, who are a complete joy to work with – grateful and trusting the entire way. Meshach and Warren put their wedding in our hands and we couldn’t be more honored and privileged to have met them and the opportunity to be with them this past weekend.
Meshach and Warren reached out to us in November of last year with the idea to plan a late winter wedding in March in the mountains of Colorado. Working quickly in four short months we planned their wedding start to finish; from recommending them to Dunton Hot Springs and all their incredible vendors, we were able to plan every last detail of their wedding weekend. We are still floating on a cloud with just how perfect the weekend turned out! The attention to detail from the Dunton staff, the incredible food, our dream team of vendors, the ambiance, the weather that was timed so perfectly… all of our hard work came together so seamlessly and with such ease. It’s weekends like this that make us so much more grateful and honored to do what we do.
Read more about this incredible wedding and all the vendors involved on our original wedding weekend recap we shared right after the wedding.
Real Wedding Recap :: Calluna’s Biggest Wedding Yet
Calluna wrapped up its busiest weekend to date, our entire team was here, there and everywhere! Calluna also had the biggest wedding we have ever had! We had the pleasure of assisting Mari Katherine + Tomas tie the knot with a wedding that neared 500 guests! It is hard to put into words how lucky we feel to have been a part of MK + Tomas’ special day. Not only was it an amazing unity of two cultures coming together but it also was the electric bond that these two share. Mari Katherine comes from a very Greek family who still stands strong in their Greek roots and Tomas comes from a family that is has mixture of strong Spanish and Mexican influence. The two of them held fast to their heritage and incorporated these elements throughout their special celebration. The main symbol they had throughout their wedding was an olive branch, representing their Greek and Spanish cultures and symbolizing peace as MK + Tomas take their first steps into marriage.
The rehearsal dinner took place at Cassidy’s Bar located at the Clarion Inn in Craig, Colorado. The whole event had a Mexican/Spanish theme. Tomas’ family took the reins on this event. Everything down to the last detail was well thought out! The decorations consisted of colorful piñatas, succulents resting in beans, handmade table runners, and gorgeous colorful paper flowers that came straight from Mexico! Tomas’ family brought in supplies from San Diego to prepare an authentic meal for everyone attending. We can testify it truly was some of the best Spanish/Mexican food we have ever had, complete with tacos and some amazing paella! It was a night packed with laughter, love, and the beginning of two amazing families coming together!
The ceremony was held at the Greek Orthodox Church in Craig. It is was an extremely small church – only seating a small amount of guests up top in the pews and a limited amount of guests downstairs who watched the ceremony on a screen. We have had the pleasure of assisting with Greek weddings, however, it never ceases to amaze us how authentic and traditional their weddings are! In fact, Lana from Lana’s Shop designed and printed a nine page ceremony program detailing all the traditions, including one of our favorites – the exchanging of the crowns. It truly was something special watching the beautiful bride and handsome groom tie the knot.
The reception took place at the Loudy- Simpson Park Ice Arena. This was one of our favorite parts of the entire weekend, watching your average ice skating rink get completely transformed into a stunning wedding venue! LMD Productions started the transformation on early Wednesday morning. Their amazing draping, beautiful uplighting, drop dead gorgeous chandeliers, and amazing team played a key role in the transformation of the skating rink. Rodd and his team worked extremely hard and they truly outdid themselves! Event Rents brought in all the rentals including our favorite farm tables and cross back chairs. Eclectic Hive brought the amazing head table which was a cocktail height long mirrored table. This table definitely completed the look the bride had envisioned. They also brought the bars as well as some of the cocktail tables and provided one of their amazing cement bars for the tequila tasting bar. All bar menus, table numbers, and other signage was made by the lovely Taryn from Twinkle & Toast! Megan Joy Cakes provided the amazing cake that had us drooling from the minute it arrived! The Perfect Petal provided all the florals for both the reception and ceremony – and of course they didn’t disappoint! All of the flowers were absolutely jaw-dropping gorgeous and helped tie the whole look together! Steve from Steve Stanton Photography photographed all the events leading up to this weekend as well as throughout the weekend and we can’t wait to see all the amazing photos he took! Anne and John from Aspasia’s Catering are friends of Mari Katherine’s family and they did an incredible job making an authentic Greek dinner and fed the 500 guests in record time! They also provided amazing Greek desserts including Baklava that had us coming back for seconds! And to really get the party started we had the Matchmaker Band, who successfully got everyone on the dance floor! But most importantly we were able to create a space that the bride had envisioned and much much more. The moment that she walked into the space she started to cry and of course we did too! That moment right there is what makes all our hard work worth it.
Mari Katherine + Tomas have a magnetic bond, they have that sort of love story that you really only hear about in fairytales. We can’t wait to see what is next for this amazing couple but we wish them all the love and happiness in the world because they truly deserve it! xx, Calluna
