Boho Wedding with Pops of Rust and a Mix of Fresh + Dried Flowers | Wedding Recap | Emily + Steve

Camp Hale is one of the venue’s in Colorado that is really special. Situated between Leadville and Vail – the remote nature really gives your guests the most stunning views and overall experience and that’s exactly what Emily & Steve wanted to give their families – many of whom were traveling to Colorado from Kansas and Missouri.

We kicked off the weekend with an intimate rehearsal dinner at The Hythe hotel in Vail followed by a big welcome party at Arrabelle Vail! It was the perfect way to welcome all their guests to Vail for the weekend.

When we started designing their wedding, we knew we wanted to keep a lot of the tones and colors earthy but with a summer twist. The color palette of rust tones mixed in with some lighter colors played perfect to the vast landscape of Camp Hale and the beautiful summer season. It all came together beautifully!

At cocktail hour – guests were treated to spicy margaritas and comfy lounge groupings while these “party people” found their seats at a custom designed escort display. Before heading into the tent – Wandering Poppy Co. blew us away with a lush, organic entrance install. Once inside, guests the boho inspired florals were on full display with an amazing dance floor installation that was paired with pops of color in the glassware and napkins to transform the tent.

After dinner, guests took the dance floor to dance all night to the sounds of Manhattan Band before sending the couple off with a sparkler exit!

Real Wedding :: Emily + Michael’s Dreamlike Wedding

This past weekend we had the pleasure of watching Emily + Michael’s wedding unfold in complete perfection. It turned out even better than we had envisioned. Their wedding was one of those show-stopping, jaw-dropping, too good to be true, “can we relive that wedding again?” type of weddings! We know, that may seem a little extreme, BUT it truly was that and much much more! Everything from all of the decor elements to the couple themselves was truly a treat to work with and to see come together!

Let’s start off with the decor items. It was the collaboration of a lifetime! To put it simply, it was a #dreamteam effort that came together seamlessly to bring the vision to life. We had the amazing Jill with Eclectic Hive, Stephanie with Lalé Florals, Gretchen with Yonder Floral & Decor House, and Meagan with Whimsy Design Studio working closely together and each bringing amazing items to the table that completed the look we were striving for!

The ceremony took place on the front lawn of The Manor House overlooking the breathtaking Colorado landscape. It was a sweet ceremony between Emily + Michael, and our first wedding to incorporate sign language since our wonderful groom and some of his friends and family are deaf. It was a truly special moment watching Emily + Michael say their forever vows by signing them to each other!

After the ceremony the cocktail hour took place. Guest were greeted by a bouncy castle, yes – you heard that right. A bouncy castle! To compliment the bouncy castle, there were an array of amazing seating vignettes, a life size Connect Four, a giant Jenga set, and four large air star lights set out on the lawn behind The Manor house – which overlooks both Red Rocks Amphitheater and downtown Denver.

As cocktail hour concluded, we parted the garland-lined curtains to unveil the gorgeous reception area! Guests found their seats by looking at the custom made acrylic disc escort cards created by Whimsy Design Studio. They made their way into a room that was dripping in greenery, and gorgeous florals, with hints of gold and adorned by candlelight. Before guests had a chance to sit down, Emily + Michael shared their first dance with Soul School singing a cover to Prince’s song 1999! And of course, Emily + Michael so sweetly encouraged all their family and friends to come up and dance with them during it!

As guests found their way to their seats, they were greeted with a three course decadent meal which included a dual entree of fried chicken and waffles and steak topped with bacon bits. Yum! The guests were able to satisfy their sweet tooth with a choice of Fruity Pebbles cake or chocolate malt cake made by Katy with Sugar Breck!

The rest of the evening was spent with the guests enjoying the sound of Soul School and the perfect temperatures outside where guests took full advantage of all the seating vignettes! It was a night to remember and one that we will surely cherish forever!

We can’t hardly wait to see all the pretty captured by Ali from Ali Vagnini Weddings, but until then enjoy some snaps that were captured during the day with our iPhones! xx, Calluna

An Unforgettable Site Visit at Brush Creek Ranch

It’s been a dream of ours to work with Brush Creek Ranch in Southwest Wyoming on a wedding and we are fortunate that the time has come! We had the opportunity to visit the ranch last week in preparation for our May wedding and it was even more spectacular than we imagined! We are so grateful to Schelby and Corinne for their hospitality and invaluable time while we were there. And we loved meeting Emmylou, the resident Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, as well as all the other BCR dogs, who elevated the cuteness factor of our stay!

Set on 30,000 pristine private acres in the heart of the Platte River Valley in Southeastern Wyoming, The Lodge & Spa at Brush Creek Ranch offers guests the opportunity to experience the grandeur and adventure of the American West in sophisticated style. A lauded destination for glorious weddings, high end corporate retreats, adventurous Wyoming ranch vacations for families, and romantic getaways, their luxury dude ranch provides an authentic taste of the best of the West.

The cabins and suites are so spectacularly styled and well appointed you feel liked you’ve stepped into a Ralph Lauren Home catalog. However there is a true authentic nod to the original homestead which was founded in 1884. This is pure western luxury at its finest mixed with the beauty and history of this part of the west.

There is a reason why Brush Creek Ranch was voted #2 among the best hotel & resorts in the World, #1 Resort in the USA and West by Conde Nast Traveler and #1 Spa in the West by Conde Nast Traveler Readers Choice Awards!

Please enjoy our IPhone photos until we can share images from our friend and uber talented wedding photographer Otto Schulze next month.

Meshach + Warren’s Awe-Inspiring Dunton Hot Springs Wedding

There are some couples, some weddings, where the work isn’t work and by the time you get to the ceremony you feel as though you are watching two old, dear friends marry. Couples who make you want to go above and beyond every single minute, who are a complete joy to work with – grateful and trusting the entire way. Meshach and Warren put their wedding in our hands and we couldn’t be more honored and privileged to have met them and the opportunity to be with them this past weekend.

Meshach and Warren reached out to us in November of last year with the idea to plan a late winter wedding in March in the mountains of Colorado. Working quickly in four short months we planned their wedding start to finish; from recommending them to Dunton Hot Springs and all their incredible vendors, we were able to plan every last detail of their wedding weekend. We are still floating on a cloud with just how perfect the weekend turned out! The attention to detail from the Dunton staff, the incredible food, our dream team of vendors, the ambiance, the weather that was timed so perfectly… all of our hard work came together so seamlessly and with such ease. It’s weekends like this that make us so much more grateful and honored to do what we do.

Read more about this incredible wedding and all the vendors involved on our original wedding weekend recap we shared right after the wedding.

Sarah + John’s stunning St. Julien wedding

Sarah and John met during their freshmen year at University of Colorado Boulder where they quickly bonded over their hometown roots of Dallas, TX. Their love for Boulder brought them back to wed at the St Julien, bringing a taste of Texas with them. By incorporating their Dallas based florist, Bella Flora , Sarah + John crafted a wedding and overall vision that was earthy and calm, while being unique and detail oriented. I mean, a succulent backdrop?! Genius. This juxtapostion created one of the most beautiful events we’ve seen at the St Julien. The happy couple accompanied their 200 guests into a tented festive fete where they danced through the night up until the best wedding send off we’ve ever seen – in a vintage VW van!
