We’ve had a busy wedding season here at Calluna, and we absolutely loved seeing all of our couples’ visions come together for their big day. This week’s Coffee with Calluna will focus on tablescape trends we’ve been seeing and loving!
Layering Textures
Though we love a classic tablescape, we are thrilled when our couples decide to layer different textures for an interesting pop. Mackenzie and Justin’s Sonnenalp Wedding was so full of beautiful textures, we didn’t know where to look first! In lieu of a linen, Mackenzie and Justin’s table was decorated with a stunning floral garland that ran the length of the tables that added dimension and color. The mixed metals of gold silverware and glasses along with rose gold chargers came together perfectly for a new twist on old classics. The chargers were topped with a mix of eclectic blue plates, and the royal blue velvet napkins brought in the final punch to create an absolute stunner. Each layer would have worked on their own, but together they really shined!

Pop of Color
This year, a lot of our couples brought in punches of color in their tablescapes. Lauren and Walker’s Union Station reception brought all the glitz and glam with their gold settings and blush velvet napkins. The tablescape was still elegant and classic but the luxe, vibrant florals brightened up the room with their different textures and jewel tones.

Minimalism
When your venue is so beautiful, a minimal tablescape that enhances the background is all you need. Emily and John brought in farm tables for their intimate backyard summer wedding. The tables were topped with small bud vases and gold votives. Guests enjoyed dining al fresco during golden hour!

Tapered Candles
A lot of couples have been going back to basics with chic runner and tapered candles. Though deceptively simple, grouping tapered candles with some greenery can really elevate the design. Brooke + Christian used a mix of gold candlesticks in hurricanes for different heights along with light gauzy runners and a simple ivy and loose blooms garland. This flooded the room with candlelight and provided a romantic, whimsical environment.

Organic Floral Creations
We love seeing organic, flowing floral installations, and we especially love it when it is incorporated into a tablescape! With crawling vines and small tendrils, smilax was the star of the show as it hung above this tablescape. Using traditional and non traditional florals, Hannah and Will’s head table was adorned with an installation that seemed as if it was overflowing onto the table from the ceiling!

Holiday Greens:
While we love a traditional Christmas tree, we are obsessing over some of the new trends we are seeing in some trees this year. Mixing up your tree decor is the perfect way to add a splash of festivity to your home, and you’ll have a blast straying from your traditional decorations.
Don’t be afraid to go small. A little tree can still make a BIG statement. We adore this table-top tree, it fits perfectly in the room but still makes the area feel festive and bright.

Play with florals: How unique and gorgeous is this tree wrapped in colorful flowers? We have truly never seen anything like it and we think it is the perfect way to incorporate some unique colors into the holiday season. I mean, you can’t go wrong with a splash of pink!

The Holiday Table:
There is no better way to express your holiday style than through a beautiful table! There are so many fabulous ways to dress up your dining space, and we are so inspired by the creativity we are seeing.
Utilize Classic Colors: There are most definitely ways to incorporate the classic “red and green” without going overboard. We love the use of cranberries and greenery as a way to give the table a classic pop of color. Mason jars are also the perfect vessel to give your table a rustic feel.

Pop of Plaid: We adore the pop of plaid in this holiday table scape. The greenery and plaid napkins make the setting feel cozy and comfortable. If you want to go full blown plaid, consider using a table cloth, but these plaid napkins give just the right amount of pattern.

Don’t Underestimate Simple Colors (and some sparkle): We love the color combo of white, gold and some sparkles! Though this color palette is rather simple, the sparkly placements and metallic accents make this table setting something special!

Dont Neglect the Outside:
The outside of your home needs some holiday love too! Don’t forget to add some festive decor to the outside as well, to give your space an extra feel of holiday cheer!
Get Creative with your Wreaths: Welcome your visitors with a gorgeous wreath full of unique plants like ivy, moss and eucalyptus! All of these gorgeous greens are a great way to decorate for the holidays!
