The Royal Wedding is just around the corner, and we couldn’t be more excited to break out the bubbly and celebrate! Americans and British alike are all abuzz with excitement over what we’ll see at the Royal Wedding! Here are some of our predictions and what we are most excited about over here at Calluna Events!
Royal Wedding Trends
From the dress to the flowers, cake, and everything in between, we can’t wait to see what trends the Royal Wedding will set. Although most of the details are kept a secret until the big day, here is what we know so far…
The Venue | The couple will say “I do” at St.George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, one of the most iconic landmarks of the royal British family. The chapel accommodates 800 guests, making it a more intimate venue than previous Royal Weddings, including Kate + Williams 2000 guest ceremony at Westminster Abbey.
The Cake | Claire Ptak of London’s Violet Bakery will be making a spring-themed Amalfi lemon + elderflower flavored cake for the big day.
The Flowers | Meghan + Harry chose London florist Philippa Craddock. The arrangements are said to include garden roses, peonies, + foxgloves, as well as branches of beech, birch, + hornbeam.
The Dress | Although the designer of the gown has remained a well-kept secret, it has been revealed that the dress is finished, and Meghan has shown it to the Queen.
What the Calluna Crew is most excited about!
Heather Dwight “I am excited to see the Royal Family breaking down barriers and Meghan Markle breaking glass ceilings – she’s American, bi-racial and a divorcee, all things that were forbidden or frowned upon in the Royal history. I love how stylish and modern she is and no doubt we’ll see her personal style infused into her dress, the flowers, the choice of entertainment and more! While I do love the history and tradition that the British monarchy represents (I am British after all!) I love seeing the modern and freshness the Dutchess of Cambridge has brought into the Royal Family. I think Meghan Markle will continue to do that and breath a new air into the monarchy.”
Gabriele Sarbaugh “The dress! I’m so excited to see if and how Meghan incorporates the traditional royal wedding dress elements (white, sleeves, train) into a dress with her incredible personal style.”
Kristen Kennedy “I have always been fascinated by the Royal family and used to have the biggest crush on Prince Harry as a kid. I am excited to see an American married into the royal family, especially one who is so stylish and educated! I have watched my fair share of Princess Diana documentaries, and I think she would have really loved Meghan!”
Lauren Groeper “Honestly I’m the most excited about the fashion! Meghan’s style is so classic, and yet still totally on trend. I can’t wait to see what both she and Harry will choose to wear for their nuptials. And the two of them seem so head over heels in love. I’m also just excited to watch them say their vows together. Such a modern fairytale!”
Carina Serratore “I’m really excited to see how Harry and Meghan’s wedding strays from tradition. I think they’re going to put a modern spin on this extremely traditional event, and I can’t wait to see how exactly they do that. Meghan Markel has also become such a style icon so of course I’m dying to see her dress!”
