We’ve been on extra trend alert for 2016 winter weddings, perusing Pinterest and our feeds for the latest and greatest in cold weather nuptials. What we’ve found, and what we’re sharing, is a bit of a continuation from Summer floral trends – abundant greenery in every turn. Be it tablescapes, escort displays, bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, dessert adornments and more, we’re asking for more green, please.
We’ve seen a few of our summer season brides hit the nail on the head with this look. Katy + Zach brought Blanc’s blank space to life by adding lush floral installations (brought to us by Lale Florals), accompanying the overflowing foliage and shubbery on the exterior exposed brick walls. The juxtaposition of dinning indoors while being surrounded by the beauty of nature created an organic yet modern vibe. We love each curated piece throughout the ceremony, cocktail hour and rehearsal to transport this stripped down venue into an overgrown urban garden.
Kat + Nick had a different execution but equally compelling outcome – their “enchanting forest” vision had the Boulder Country Club dripping with moss, ferns, succulents, air plants in every pocket possible, tastefully accented with pops of purple, creams and gold. Masterfully created by The Perfect Petal, this inspired event took advantage of every shade, texture and type of greenery we could ask for – and it paid off.
After seeing two Calluna brides nail it, we’re hooked. We love stepping away from our traditional white wedding bouquet and with distinct, rich, plush greenery – a striking contrast from your white wedding gown. We love allowing greenery to take the stage as our leading lady while letting our brighter florals becoming the supporting actress – a look that is a no brainer to transfer from the summer to winter season. And did we mention it’s a penny pinching trick?
