Today’s vendor profile is on A Spice of Life Catering. Not only did they just partipate in Calluna Events 5th anniversary celebration this past weekend, they have been a constant caterer on our vendor referral list over the past five years. We love that they are a local Boulder catering company and that they not only provide excellent food but an amazing level of service. We know that our clients are going to get taken care of with A Spice of Life.
Years in Business: since 1987- 22 years

Most memorable wedding yet: Jamie Gardner’s wedding at Planet Bluegrass in September because she was a breeze to work with and incorporated a lot of creativity into the wedding. There was a fabulous sushi bar, the Spice of Life staff built a walkway out of crocs for the guests to choose from, and we served first class food in a very rustic setting beneath sandstone cliffs and the river.. The best part was having the opportunity to not only contribute to her wedding, but also to the rehearsal dinner.
I love it when a bride & groom: are playful with their food options and willing to work outside of the box. They are also as invested in the details as much as we are—they are ready to set their day apart with our fresh ideas.
Favorite thing to do for a wedding: – I love the full service aspect of wedding coordinating. The details set us apart and allow for creativity and organization. An outstanding menu, of course, takes the wedding to the next level.
My favorite kind of bride is: one that has confidence in our services from the beginning to the end. She is also willing to give input, but open to guidance at the same time.
What sets us apart from other caterers: Most caterers just provide food. A Spice of Life provides all services, and enables the bride to be a guest on her special day. Spice also makes a commitment to the environment every day. We are amongst the few elite companies who adopted the Eco-Cycle zero waste program through composting and recycling. Furthermore, each client that we work with becomes a part of our close knit “Spice family.” Our experience and talents have named us the Best of Boulder since 1999.
Trends we are seeing for 2009: comfort foods and locally grown products are a hit. Brides and Grooms are craving your classic meat and potatoes with a twist.
