As we all know, Bridal Fashion Week just wrapped up in New York City. Leaving those who took the event by storm completely exhausted and those who didn’t attend wishing they had. Although we were insanely jealous of everyone who attended, we certainly were completely smitten (and even more grateful) by every single post throughout the entire week. We would have given anything to be there for it. Luckily some of our favorite local vendors attended and were happy to share with us the inside scoop! Of course Style Me Pretty gave us a reliable run down, complete with pictures, of what happened in New York and the trends that we need to look out for! Now that we feel more in the loop… sort of, (still wishing we were there in person 🙂 ) we thought we would share with all our lovely Calluna readers. Enjoy! xx Calluna

Little White Dress Bridal Shop told us their favorite trends they saw at this bridal fashion week.
ballet-inspired looks. We saw lots of ballet inspiration in wedding dress design this season, with subtle touches like delicate cross-backs, low scoop backs, and wispy tulle skirts.

Detachable overskirts and trains. Such an elegant and easy way to change looks from the ceremony to the reception without changing into a second dress, many designers are offering detachable overskirt and train options.
| Claire Pettibone |
Regal style. We loved the modern take on regal style that we saw from several designers (including Naeem Khan), with everything from crowns to sophisticated yet glamorous sleeves and fuller skirts.

Belted backs. The low, open back is nothing new, but this season we saw belted styling on low back styles. This is a great way to accentuate the waistline on plunging back styles.
