When Abby & Ren came to us – they had a vision for a small, intimate wedding in a place that was really special to them. One of their first trips as a couple was to Aspen, Colorado and since then – this quaint ski town has held a special place in their hearts and they knew they wanted to share it with a small group of friends and family.
To kick off the weekend, Abby wanted to welcome their friends and family in true “wild west” fashion so we took over the Holden Marolt Mining Museum and had ourselves a good ol’ fashioned BBQ. Abby and Ren were very intentional about the details, wanting it to be a total departure for the experience their guests would have the following evening for their wedding ceremony.
Matchbooks are a staple in Abby & Ren’s house – they have a large collection so we wanted to give away a little momento from the weekend. Guests were also treated to custom bandanas that has icon designs of places and things that were important to them – everything from the state of Maryland where they are from to a sketch are their adorable french bulldog, Georgia!
Hickory House served up classic BBQ favorites from pulled pork sandwiches, mac n’ cheese, cole slaw and Abby’s favorite – chicken fingers and fries!
The next day, guests descended upon Aspen’s historic Hotel Jerome for the wedding celebrations. With the ever-talented Abby Jiu behind the lense, see below for some of the details from this stunning, summer, Aspen wedding!
The details and color scheme were really important to Abby – we spent a lot of time making sure that the pinks and corals of their wedding color scheme felt like the perfect representation of late-summer but not overly pink and feminine. The invitation suite from Knapp Design Co. perfectly tied that color scheme together!
The STAR of the show – Georgia – the sweetest, french bulldog, of course, made an appearance throughout the wedding weekend. Perfectly tied into the some of the smaller details (see below the napkins and matchbooks) but the groom couldn’t resist adding a little flair to his outfit. His loafers and cufflinks were a nod to their adorable puppy!
On Abby & Ren’s first trip to Aspen, one of their favorite memories was sitting upstairs of New York Pizza on the mall and sharing a slice of pizza. They really wanted to make sure they incorporated this their wedding day and thought it would be so fun to grab a slice together before their ceremony. We aren’t sure if this is the first time they’ve seen a bride and groom in the daylight grabbing a slice but it’s such a fun memory for the bride and groom to share!
Back at Hotel Jerome, the stage was set with the most stunning flowers from Alli J Floral Design and beautiful rentals from our friends at House of Wilde made the courtyard feel like the perfect, summertime backdrop for their wedding celebration.
After the ceremony, guests were treated cocktail hour in the courtyard and the show stopping piece was this stunning, custom bar from House of Wilde which was complete with a custom shade a pink paint, and their wedding crest, front and center!
In Aspen Times, the reception tables were set for a lovely evening. The color palette really shone through in this space. The pops of pinks and coral in the florals, the custom pink painted lamps and the elements of fresh, summer fruits on the tables really made this space come together. The custom backdrop for the cake was another highlight of the design, again complete with the couples wedding crest – it served as the perfect backdrop to the floral wedding cake!
A huge shoutout to our vendor partners who made this day come to life!
