We're calluna
This year Calluna Events has so much to be thankful for! Whether an intimate elopement or a grand affair for 500, we are grateful for the couples who want their wedding celebration to be a reflection of their love and relationship. We are thankful to live in a state that supports marriage equality and a nation that has embraced it. It has been a privilege to be a part of some of these amazing same-sex marriages! We are thankful for the incredible and extensive network of vendors we have the distinct pleasure of working with throughout the year. In all honesty we truly believe we are only as good as our vendors and we are fortunate to work with the best in the state. Last but certainly not least, we are grateful for the ladies who work for Calluna Events. Our staff, some who have been with us for nine years, are steadfast, bright, and creative! They work tirelessly often long days, mostly behind the scenes and always with enthusiasm and grace.

Read a little below to see what our team is giving thanks for – what are you grateful for this year?

Heather (Owner, Principal Curator & Stylist) :: Each year when I sit down to write this blog post it allows me an opportunity to reflect on the past year and all the things in my life that make me truly grateful. As we enter our 13th year in business I am in awe and inspired by the Calluna Community – our clients who choose Calluna, the vendors we work so closely with and who continually entrust their clients with us, and I am thankful to be able to go to work each day and do something I love and am passionate about.

I am forever grateful and humbled by our staff, some who have been with Calluna for nearly ten years. They are the backbone of Calluna, some my right hand women, who allow us to continue to grow and expand, who work tirelessly and who have such positive enthusiasm for this industry. I consider them all friends and love the impact they’ve had on my life and my business.

I am awed by the love and support of my family and my friends, especially my husband, our daughter Maggie and son Grey. Those close to me know I haven’t had the easiest two years personally and I am so grateful to those close to me for their never-ending love and support. Losing my Mom two years ago makes me especially thankful for my health, the health of loved ones and their love. It’s something to never take for granted.

I’m grateful to live in such an incredible place as Boulder. For fresh air, sunshine, hikes in the mountains, yoga, a good latte, great chocolate, travel to new places, adventure, patience, deep breaths and love.

Gabbie (Lead Curator & Stylist) :: I am so so grateful for my wonderful and inspiring family, friends and colleagues – their love, support, and encouragement means everything to me! I cherish this time of the year when I am able to spend quality time with them relaxing, connecting, and enjoying the holidays. I am also incredibly thankful for good health and healing – for myself and loved ones. Finally, I’m thankful for life’s simple pleasures: early morning runs, quiet nights at home, mountain views, sunshine, good food, fine wine, and succulent sweets. Happy Thanksgiving!

Francesca (Lead Curator & Stylist) :: There is always something to be thankful for and everyday I find myself thankful for new things.  I am thankful for a life that provides me with new and exciting opportunities everyday.  I am thankful for all of my friends that turned into family and for dreams that have turned into realities.  Specifically at Calluna Events I am thankful to work with such an amazing, inspiring and powerful group of ladies, including our fearless leader Heather! Eat, Drink and Be Thankful (thankful for stretchy pants) – Happy Thanksgiving!

Michelle (Lead Curator & Stylist) :: I am Thankful for:

  • My wonderful fiancé  – Yay for wedding planning!
  • Our cute pooch Addi
  • My wonderful family – especially my hunky nephew Ryan
  • The Mountains – Living in Colorado with the views
This truly has been one of the best year’s of my life.  I feel so blessed for everything that has happened and everyone who has been apart of it.

Melanie (Associate Planner) :: We are in one of my favorite seasons – a season where we can take a second to look up from our phones, our computers and to do lists and actually reflect back on the last year. To sit in the wonder of the accomplishments we’ve achieved, the obstacles we’ve overcome, remembering the staggering “this is impossible there’s no way I can do this” feeling, and then realizing we came out of it alive; we’re still standing, we’re still thriving.

I’m so grateful for another year of thriving. In my third season of Calluna, I’ve grateful that I’ve learned more than I could have ever imagined. I’m grateful for the incredible support system I’ve built – both professionally and personally – that helps me navigate the glamorous (and not so glamorous) moments. I’m grateful to live in Denver where opportunities pop up just about every corner. And most of all- I’m grateful for the adventure that awaits in 2016!

Kristin (Lead Curator & Stylist) :: I am thankful for many things as this year has truly been one of transition for me and my daughter, Rhona. First, I am thankful and grateful for her every single day. She is the motivating force behind every decision I make. I am also thankful for my health, my extremely loving and supportive family and friends. I have fostered new friendships over the past few months and I am grateful to have such great women in my life. In addition, I am very thankful for all of the Calluna girls because you all bring uplifting, positive, love and support to the table. Not to mention how hard-working and kick ass all of you are!

Sami (Associate Planner) :: When I sit down and really think about my life, it’s hard to put into words all that I am thankful for. Especially when there are so many things in my life to give thanks to! I am so blessed and feel so grateful to have all the elements in my life that make me feel so special! Each of those key aspects of my life, both the good and the not so good, have driven me to where I am today. And I can honestly say I am pretty proud of my accomplishments this year! I will say that I feel so blessed that I am a part of the #CallunaCrew. I have learned so much in this past year with this talented group of women. They are the perfect role models for me and they are who I wake up and strive to be everyday! I am excited to slip into 2016 and to keep discovering new things to be thankful for! Cheers!

Kristen (Intern) :: I am so Thankful to live in this beautiful town of Boulder and experience all of the amazing seasons (I am from SF and we don’t have seasons!)  I am also thankful for all of the delicious food that comes with the holiday season, I always make vanilla bean cheesecake for Thanksgiving & Christmas so I am glad I get to participate in the family meal! And on that note I am thankful for LEFTOVERS (turkey sandwhich and mashed potatoes the next day is even better!)

As we embark on another year we are truly humbled and grateful for all the experiences from this past year and so excited for what’s in store for 2016 and beyond! xx, Calluna
