Lately we’ve been loving the trend in using everything local for your wedding. From local food, produce, local flowers and incorporating a “farm to table” feel for, options galore are springing up for your wedding, rehearsal dinner or other wedding event.
We recently visited our friend Betsy Burton at her residence, the Lyons Farmette and we were so impressed. When Betsy had originally contacted us she had just purchased the farm and was in the process of seeing what the best use would be. After a full season of cooking classes and a few rehearsal dinners under her belt, Betsy acquired a property adjacent to the farm which will allow for plenty of party for larger parties – and now weddings! We say yippee! Boulder County needs more outdoor wedding venues like this one. Betsy’s farm incorporates a real working farm with fresh cut flowers, vegetables as well as chickens running around. There are large trees on the property and even a tree swing.
Betsy partners with a catering company, Back to Basics Kitchen, that works on the farm and helps with the cooking classes she offered this year but other caterers are welcome. The flowers on site are all organic so you could incorporate local, fresh & organic flowers into your bridal bouquet and reception flowers.
