2014 has already been a very exciting year for the ladies at Calluna Events – new weddings, new projects, new clients, and to boot it is our 10th anniversary!! To celebrate this very special event, we are kicking our heels up and hosting a lavish “Modern Marie Antoinette” party at the oh so fabulous Blanc in Denver. Read below as one of our lead planners, Jolene, describes the inspiration  with a few photos to spark your imagination. We can’t wait to see your creative costumes!

Who isn’t inspired by the elegance and luxury of the “Marie Antoinette era?” I was originally inspired by a jaw-dropping floral arrangement I saw from Utah-based florist, Tinge Floral. The model was wearing a stunning avant garde gown and had very nude + pale makeup and BIG hair that was so Marie Antoinette. While she certainly wasn’t admired by many at the time, Marie Antoinette surrounded herself with beauty – beautiful clothes, beautiful flowers, beautiful food and drink, beautiful furniture etc. I was inspired by her love of beautiful things and thought it was the perfect theme to carry into a wedding and event where there is nothing but love and beauty. 😉
