Winter Wedding in Beaver Creek | Wedding Sneak Peek | Madison + Cooper

Madison and Cooper have deep roots in Beaver Creek so it was only fitting to choose it as the destination to celebrate their 200-person weekend winter wedding. Big time skiers, the duo knew they wanted to incorporate the leisure sport into their day in a way that felt authentic to them – in additional to the personal nods of their relationship, travels and family history woven throughout. The nearly-newlyweds kicked off weekend festivities with a group ski day, donned in matching suits as they whipped down the mountain – freshly powdered by the mid-January snowstorm.

In a change of scenery, guests embraced the spirit of Ohana and channeled the islands of Hawaii for an Aloha Welcome Party hosted at Beaver Creek Club, paying homage to M+C’s time spent in Hawaii. Red Maple Catering created a custom menu of mai tais and mahi ceviche shooters while family-friend and island musician Nino Kaai played traditional Hawaiian music and gave a blessing to the couple. Guests headed home under a sky full of stars while sporting hand-made leis from Plum Sage Flowers and high altitude treats from Bundles Gift Co in tow.

Saturday brought more quintessential Colorado bluebird skies and flurry snowflakes to make for an idyllic wedding day. Madison’s stunning Galia Lahav lace number from Little White Dress set the tone for the wedding’s modern romantic design, leaning heavily into the natural elements of the mountains, complimented by a dreamy palate of creamy neutrals and accents of rich jewel tones.

With experts Nate Shepard Photography and Aflatis Films documenting, M+C two exchanged their forever vows in front of loved ones at the iconic Beaver Creek Chapel – the very same spot Madison’s parents got engaged 30+ years ago. Immediately after the I do’s, the bride + groom braved the cold & boarded the gondola – celebrating their adventurous spirit and cementing the new chapter of life atop their favorite mountain.

The evening transitioned over to Park Hyatt Beaver Creek where family and friends were invited to cozy up with spiked hot chocolate before finding their table assignments on a custom ski-themed seating chart, creatively crafted by the team at Knapp Design Co. A reception chock-full to of belly laughs, a packed dance floor and –– you guessed it –– a ski-chair photo booth was the perfect way to celebrate the special union of this sweet couple.

In the final hoorah, the weekend capped off with a savory Mexican brunch before the wedding crew hit the slopes for another day of Beaver Creek bliss – rounding out one of the most exciting winter wedding weekends we’ve had the pleasure to be a part of. Endless thanks, as always, to the many hands who touched each part of this event to make it a resounding success – our well of gratitude runs deep to the entire vendor team!

Moody Mardi Gras Wedding in Aspen | Wedding Recap | Lauren + Eren

When Lauren and Eren came to us they wanted a winter wedding tucked in the mountains of Aspen on April 3, 2021 we went to designing a special day for them, their families, and their adorable pugs! Then, like many of our other couples, COVID derailed their original wedding plans and they gracefully postponed their wedding to April 2022. They were still determined to get married on their original date and so they flew from their home in Rhode Island across the country with their pugs, Cooper and Bailey to Palm Springs for an epic elopement captured by the talented Nate Shepard Photography.
When it came time to start planning again, another variant of COVID was quickly sweeping the nation and we decided to pivot from our original venue to the courtyard of St. Regis Aspen and we would’t have had it any other way! Lauren + Eren had a magical first look at the top of Aspen Mountain, overlooking the breathtaking views slope-side where they stumbled upon “Snow Beach,” an epic lifeguard stand art installation by Gray Malin in partnership with The Little Nell and we just couldn’t help ourselves but take advantage of the moment! All dressed up, they both climbed to the top of Snow Beach and shared a few moments taking in the views at that epic vantage point. On the most picture-perfect bluebird sky day, Lauren + Eren finally said “I do!” with all their loved ones in attendance at Aspen Meadows, with gorgeous snowcapped mountains as the backdrop of their stunning ceremony. Bringing a bit of NOLA to Aspen, guests followed the newlyweds and the Brass Animals second line as they made their way from the ceremony to cocktail hour at the St. Regis for more fun!
Guests were welcomed into the fancy reception dressed to the nines with moody velvet vignettes, gorgeous florals by The Perfect Petal, and sparkling chandeliers that lit the space. We loved playing with this Mardi Gras type of color palette with silky blues, wines, and emeralds with black and gold accents and warm woods all brought to life with lovely decor by Wallflower Rentals and stunning velvet draping and lighting by Little Mad Events. At each place setting, eclectic floral menus by Scarlet Gilia Creative sat pretty atop stoneware plates and beaded chargers with florals dancing throughout the table lit by candles. The eatery had lots of fun nods to Lauren + Eren’s darling relationship with delectable lobster rolls in honor of New England where they call home and New Orleans-style shrimp and grits as a nod to their days at Tulane University where they met, fell in love, and got engaged! Guests had the time of their lives as they enjoyed sippin’ champagne in front of the fun neon sign that read, ’till death do us party!’ and a rockin’ dance floor with DJ Tony from The Get Down! We so loved sharing in this day with Lauren & Eren and wish them a lifetime of love, happiness, and pugs!

Jen + Joe | Winter Wonderland Wedding at Devil’s Thumb Ranch

Jen and Joe wed on the second day of November at the iconic Devil’s Thumb Ranch up the road from Winter Park. The two romantics planned their intimate affair for 75 with moody tones, unexpected textures and cozy personalized details.

Upon arrival, guests were greeted with spiked hot coco and bundled under blankets to witness J + J vow to forever. Post ceremony, the newlyweds had the most magical sunset session with the horses of the ranch – our beautiful bride, adorned with a trend worthy wide brimmed hat and a cozy fur jacket was a true vision. Paired with a fresh dusting of November snow, we’ve never seen more a winter wonderland. Meanwhile at cocktail hour, Leia the Beer Burro made a surprise appearance, offering chilled brews and nose snuggles with plenty of photo ops. Wedding celebrations continued in the historic Broad Axe Barn, complete with twinkle lights, customized taper candles and beautiful farm tables featuring arrangements of figs and florals.

The day was filled with intentional details and meaningful personalizations – like how Jen refurbished Joe’s late father’s car from the 70s and surprised her almost-husband rolling up to their first look in style. At it’s core, the wedding was perfectly them and we’re honored to have planned alongside them for such a special occasion.

Callie & Nick’s Winter Wonderland at The Broadmoor

Callie + Nick are such sweet, genuine, good-hearted people. They truly were a dream couple to work with and we had the pleasure in helping bring their vision of winter wedding to life alongside one of the best decor companies in state, Design Works.

The night before a light snow covered The Broadmoor grounds leaving it looking as magical as ever! Callie and Nick started their morning off with an intimate hike with each other to spend a few peaceful moments together before their whirlwind day really took off. The bride was picture perfect in her dress, an elegant birdcage veil, polished off with her gorgeous red hair in beautiful curls! The ceremony site was decorated with towering trees with budding flowers on each branch and glimmering lanterns lining the aisle. There couldn’t have been a more perfect spot for Callie and Nick to say their hand written vows to each other!

After the ceremony, guests mingled into the cocktail hour where they could sign a custom guest book and read a letter that was written by President Obama himself to the lovely couple! How special! When the cocktail hour commenced, guests were greeted by an incredible escort card display leading into the Lake Terrace room. The gold sequin linen coupled with the towering florals from Design Works was amazing!  Guests dined on delicious food from the Broadmoor while the newly wed couple made their way to each table to greet their lovely guests. The florals were absolutely breathtaking and there was no detail that went unnoticed. We loved everything from Callies beautiful, fragrant bouquet to the incredible centerpieces complete with jaw dropping roses and peonies. Swoon! The party kicked off with Callie + Nick’s first dance, and it didn’t stop thanks to the talented Martini Shot Band who kept the crowd moving to the beat all night long!

We can’t wait to see more photos from the talented Heather Gray.  In the meantime, enjoy a few snaps from our iphones and a sneak peek from Heather Gray Photography. We want to say a very special congratulations to Callie and Nick – the love you share for each other is palpable, and we couldn’t imagine a couple more in love! xx, Calluna

Real Wedding :: A Magical Winter Wedding in Vail

This past weekend we had the pleasure of helping Abby + Sean tie the knot in Vail. We just love winter weddings, they are absolutely stunning! Especially when the night before, you get a fresh coat of snow to cover the Vail valley! To say the least, the weather could not have turned out better for Abby + Sean’s winter wonderland wedding!

Our bride, Abby, looked absolutely marvelous in her beautiful white Vera Wang gown, her oh so chic white fur cover, her glamorous sparkly heels, paired with her traditional white bouquet with a modern twist by The Perfect Petal!

Abby + Sean said their forever vows at the Vail Interfaith Chapel followed by a cozy winter reception at the Sonnenalp Hotel. Following the dinner the bride and groom danced the night away with their guests with the sound of the amazing Wash Park Band! It truly was a night to remember, and the perfect way for Calluna Events to wrap up the 2015 wedding season! We can’t wait to get the real deal photos from Alison Wilson Photography, but until then here are some iPhone photos we were able to snap throughout the day! Enjoy! xx, Calluna

Real Wedding :: A Boulder Winter Wedding

It is officially winter wedding season and we kicked off our season this past weekend with the right foot forward! Annie + Chris said their forever vows at an outdoor ceremony with the stunning Flatirons as their backdrop. It was a clear crisp bluebird day and we couldn’t have imagined better weather in December! The guest kept warm with custom embroidered blankets and some toasty hand warmers. The bride and her lovely maids stayed cozy in their fur shawls and floor length dresses!

The reception followed, which was full of DIY surprises that the bride and her mother worked hard on. With glowing lanterns, handmade pinecone garland, hand drawn chalkboards guiding the guests throughout the evening, a photo booth and more. The theme throughout was all white with a holiday twist. The St Julien ballroom was totally transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with twinkle lights as the backdrop for the band! The all white flowers by Brighter Day Floral were both traditional with a modern twist and were the perfect addition to the entire wedding! The love that Annie + Chris share for each other was the highlight of the evening. It always warms our hearts so to see two people come together who are madly in love! We can’t wait to get the real deal photos from All Digital, until then, enjoy some snapshots we were able to snag with our iPhones! xx, Calluna
