Whether you're planning a lavish celebration in the beautiful state of Colorado or an unforgettable destination wedding in an exotic location, our blog features inspiration from real Calluna weddings, the latest trends & tips, to make your big day absolutely unforgettable.
We're calluna
We love Colorado weddings. How could you not?! And as wedding planners, we are extra privileged to travel around the state and check out the best of the best for wedding venues. As planning season is in full swing, we’re listing out several (well, there’s quite a few) of our favorites. We promise, you can’t go wrong with any of these options.
Devils Thumb Ranch has been in our favorites list for while now. We love this tucked away ranch right outside Winter Park. The views are unbeatable, the service is impeccable and if you’re lucky a few horses may come to join your for some pictures. It’s the perfect Colorado escape regardless of the season. Your guests can enjoy a weekend getaway with onsite lodging options and authentic cabins, along with every activity under the sun. As an extra perk, DTR just debuted High Lonesome barn, a second venue option in addition to the tried and true Broad Axe Barn. We were lucky enough to host the first outdoor ceremony there last year at Lauren and Brad’s wedding and my oh my, it was breathtaking.
Blanc – This continues to be on our favorite list from last year after hosting our 10th anniversary Modern Marie styled shoot and party! The exposed walls, urban environment and large rooms make this blank space a creative dream. It’s so transformative the options are endless. We are continuing our love affair with Blanc into 2015 with several weddings already booked. Each aesthetic is completely unique and we are so looking forward to transforming this incredible venue.
The Lyons Farmette – We adore this DIY farm turned wedding venue in our lovely little town of Lyons! When the farm to table trend exploded (and we don’t see it going anywhere!) we knew there couldn’t be a more perfect venue. It’s so striped down to the bare elements of Colorado nature and with some gentle tending it can become one of the most chic outdoor wedding spaces. With a vintage airstream, goats, chickens and flowers grown on-site, the space is intimate, enchanting and rustically charming.
River Bend – Equally adorable, this is the the newest venue in the Lyons Farmette family. Rivers Bend came to be after owners Betsy & Mike purchased the land affected by the devastating floods and turned the property into a gorgeous river front haven for weddings. We hosted dear Lana’s wedding here last year and are looking forward to working here again in the upcoming season. Once again, farm to table wedding hold a special place in our spots – and this space is completely idyllic for that local experience.

St. Julien Hotel & Spa – of course we have to put the St. Julien into the mix. Not only have we been on their preferred vendor list since they opened the hotel we’ve done close to 100 events in the hotel and know every corner and possible set up for the space. We love the St. Julien particularly for locals, CU alums, or anyone who loves the Boulder area and lifestyle. The venue has proven to be both classic and exceptional, with inspired use of space and décor. And who could resist an outdoor ceremony space that showcases the iconic, breathtaking view of the Flatirons. It’s truly our local gem and the staff makes it so easy; from aspects of the ceremony layout, cocktail hour and reception we have transform the space in a multitude of ways and love bringing the clients new vision to life. We are looking forward to doing many weddings and events here in 2015!
