We sat down a few days ago (well… emailed, but it’s almost the same thing, right?) with Todd from Wash Park Studio, a fabulous Denver venue that we are eager to explore. We’ve gushed over this venue and can’t wait for a client to hold an event here!! Read up on what they have to offer below, and then make sure to check out all their social media pages to get more info!

Tell us about Wash Park Studio: the history, the team, what makes it special.

Wash Park Studio is home to Droy Photography where regional, national and international ads are shot. The building was completely renovated 7 years ago when we relocated from the Highlands area. It was done with a contemporary feel, yet retaining the historical “real” building materials in place, such as the exposed brick and beamed ceilings.  In addition to the photography studio use, we restructured to start hosting events here as well about 2 1/2 years ago. It has been a huge hit.  People have loved the loft like vibe that works well as is or they decorate a little to a lot, making each event more custom in it’s feel.

What kinds of events do you host and what are your favorites?

We host a lot of different types of events, but wedding receptions seem to be what we see the most, some with ceremony as well. Corporate events happen here as well, whether business related or social. This of course is the time for holiday parties. Wine tastings, big birthday parties, anniversaries, as well as memorials celebrating loved ones’ lives have all happened at Wash Park Studio.

What advice do you have for a couple planning their wedding? [We promise we didn’t tell him what to say….]

It is such an exciting time in peoples’ lives to get married.  Most have not had the experience of putting together such an important event.  If budget allows, I recommend hiring a good planner. There is just too much that can be overlooked, and a planner’s experience is so helpful. We live busy lives, and having families and friends come together for such a happy event is a rare and precious occasion. It is worthy of an investment, but within reason. Choose the things that are most important to you.  It really is about you.

What do potential clients need to know when planning an event at Wash Park Studio?

We provide a very cool space for small to medium sized events.  We are not a good fit for the mega weddings. We can accommodate up to 120 cocktail style or 80 sit down.  We also host custom catered rehearsal dinners for the larger weddings, which have been a huge hit.  Our venue has a very cool vibe as is, but our clients can decorate to their vision of what they would like the feel to be. Each one has been so different, and unique.

Describe your perfect event:

Perfect event?? Hmmmm…  When I sit in my office during an event and overhear the laughter, the joy, the heartfelt speeches and toasts, I feel that friends and family are making memories.  Fortunately, I get to experience this often. That is pretty perfect to me.
