We love nothing more than watching a love story come full circle! This week, we’re thrilled to share a recent West Coast celebration planned by Calluna’s very own Kristen Kennedy, who leads our West Coast wedding planning.
Read on below as Kristen reflects on Hazel and Kendra’s vibrant, unforgettable San Francisco wedding day:
“Hazel and Kendra first met at a bar in San Francisco and quickly hit it off. Years later, they chose to celebrate their wedding in the city where their love story began, giving their guests the quintessential San Francisco weekend along the way. This wedding was especially close to my heart. I first met Hazel and Kendra when they attended a wedding we planned in Cabo (shoutout Alayna & Hayden!), and it was such a joy to reconnect and dream up a day that felt unmistakably theirs. They wanted color, personality, incredible food, cocktails, and plenty of moments for their guests to enjoy the city they love.”
“Their ceremony took place at Swedenborgian Church, where Kendra’s parents were married more than 30 years earlier. Achim Flower Studio created a stunning floral installation for the space, bringing in the greens, pinks, and yellows that carried through the celebration.”
“From there, guests traveled by cable car to Gallery 308 at Fort Mason. They arrived to a golden sunset with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. That view helped inspire the reception design: sunset pinks and reds, playful patterns, bold florals, and layered tabletop details from Folklore, Bright, Achim, and BBJ.”
“The menu was personal too. Foxtail served Mexican food family-style in honor of Hazel’s culture, making dinner feel abundant and celebratory. Throughout the evening, guests discovered more of the couple’s favorites, including an affogato bar, a magician, tiramisu wedding cake, tray passed Fernet shots, mini Diet Cokes, spicy margaritas, and espresso martinis”
“One of the sweetest moments came during their first dance. Hazel and Kendra danced to “Man I Need,” with custom “Girl I Need” lyrics written just for them. Later, a live band and vintage photo booth kept the celebration going, while Noble Photo so beautifully captured the day on film.”
“After a weekend full of family, favorite foods, and San Francisco views, the newlyweds headed to Maui for their honeymoon. Hazel and Kendra, it was an honor to help bring your day to life!”
