Meg and Jay met at a company where they both worked as raft guides. Their passion for each other and for life in general was evident when we first met them and while working with them on the planning of their wedding. Meg was such a joy to work with! She had such a sweet personality and disposition and would say things like, “I’m so sorry I’m calling you, is now a good time?” or “Am I bothering you?” Even the night of the wedding she kept asking me if I had eaten yet. She never wanted to impose herself on you and that’s what made her so endearing! I kept reassuring her and telling her that she could call no matter what, and that no – she wasn’t bothering me, I’m here to help you! That’s what you’re paying me for.
I think it was ingrained in her – and definitely was part of her Southern upbringing. Meg was raised in the south by a very southern and very lovely woman. Meg, like many brides we work with, was torn with having her wedding reflect her and Jay, but also reflect the traditions that were important to her family. Knowing this I was able to help them plan a wedding that truly reflected their personalities, from the Christian ceremony held outdoors in nature to the Volkswagen Van groom’s cake and the plantable trees they gave their guests as favors.
Their ceremony took place on the back lawn at the Greenbriar Inn in Boulder, Colorado. McCumberland Gap played the ceremony and cocktail hour music. Meg was simply stunning in her gown! Flowers were provided by European Flower Shop and both the groom’s cake and wedding cake were provided by Tee & Cakes, both in Boulder Colorado.
