A wedding I did this year with a couple who personalized every little detail down to the paper flowers and handmade paper bride and groom topper that was placed on their cake. I love crafty and fresh ideas!
I love it when a bride and groom:
Collaborate on their cake. It is nice to see the stereotype of the bride getting to pick all of the details for the cake proven false.
Favorite thing to do for a wedding:
I love to do a smaller cake for the bride and groom and wedding party with cupcakes as well. I think that the dessertscape if you will really adds flavor and dimension to the cake table.
What sets us apart: I think what sets us apart from other vendors is the care and love that we put in our cakes. We like to keep the shop “Mom and Pop” and not a wedding factory. I love making wedding cakes and I want that to come across to our clients. We still make every little bit of the cake by hand which is not always the easiest way but it is the tastiest!
Trends we are seeing for 2009 and beyond: I think some trends for 2009 are keeping things local (using fruits and ingredients that can be sourced closer to home) and fresh. I do see the trend also headed for more non traditional cakes such as the smaller cutting cake with other things such as cupcakes and smaller desserts to fill in for servings. Stay tuned for some exciting new ideas from Tee & Cakes in the months to come! A totally new way to look at your wedding cake.
Anything else you would like to add: The only other thing that I would like to add is that we are truly honored to be making the cakes we do for the couples we do. Working with the people that we work with to make a clients event run smoothly. We are so lucky to do what we love everyday and grateful for the community love.
