Thanksgiving! A few thoughts on this special holiday:
Each year we pinch ourselves we’ve already arrived – time sure does fly with festivities at an all time high! November offers both a marker of conclusion to our production season but also a transition point into the season ahead – mentally shifting into the next year’s trends, planning, strategies. So easily we can jump from one phase of business the next without so much as a breath. We happily embrace the holiday as an opportunity to create space to gather with loved ones, to nourish our bodies with good food and drinks, to rest, to set intentions for the coming chapters but also reflect on everything that helped us arrive to this moment.
Hosting is the heartbeat of our industry and as a team of party planners, our second nature. In the year 2021, we now know hosting (holiday, or of any sort!) is no longer confined to traditional in-person gatherings, but rather a spirit of abundant celebration alongside our community, both chosen and familial. Embracing this notion, we are celebrating in spirit with all of you and welcome the opportunity to share our deep gratitude the community that surrounds Calluna Events.
To our clients, past and present, we’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. You are the reason we are here today in business and have the privilege of creating these magical moments. You are our lifeblood! Like so many in the hospitality world we did not know what “the other side” would look like but knew we would get there with the support and trust of our clients. The compassion, adaptability and positivity our clients demonstrated is nothing short of a miracle and we will be forever indebted. The very reason Calluna is thriving more than ever today is because of you. Thank you.
To our vendor partners – you are the inspiration and such an instrumental part of our Why. These past two years have rocked our industry to its core and forced constant reevaluation, recalibration, creative problem solving and a world where there was no more status quo. We are in awe of the dedication, grit, poise and perseverance to produce incredible and memorable life events and celebrations. To this bulletproof community, we will never stop championing you and your art. We are proud to walk alongside you!
To the families and support system behind the planners of Calluna – thank you. Thank you for the many many hats you wear so we can continue to show up, day after day, to our clients and vendors as our best selves. From the countless pep talks, the behind the scenes problem solving and proof-reading, the extra set of hands loading up cars, the inventory counter and idea-bouncer, the silent supporter often sliding another cup of coffee our way as we hop onto another call… we see you. We could not do this without you and we are so thankful to have each one of you in our corner.
In whatever form you choose to celebrate, in whichever way your table is dressed, we hope you join us in a moment of purposeful pause and gratitude. A very happy Thanksgiving to you from our family at Calluna Events.
