We are here for the moments! Those moments that you’ll cherish for a lifetime. We want to walk beside you toward those moments and then live them alongside you. It’s why we keep coming back again, and again, and again. This year marked our 16th-year business and we are so honored and humbled that our clients and creative partners entrust us each and every year on their weddings and events. Sitting down and reflecting on the incredible moments we’ve witnessed and recounting our highlights is one of our favorite things to do at the end of each year. We are ever grateful for the work we do, the people we have the pleasure of working with and the incredibly talented wedding and event community in Colorado.
We are so excited for 2020! We have many exciting things planned already for this year and we can’t wait to share them with you! We are so grateful for the couples whose weddings we are currently planning for 2020 and 2021 and for all the newly engaged couples who have been reaching out! We are continually inspired, challenged, and motivated to do incredible things and be the best we can be!
2019 was a remarkable year for Calluna Events and we are thrilled to share our incredible highlights with you!
Our Work:
- We planned 43 events, including an Inauguration Event for Colorado Governor Jared Polis, a corporate event for BPX Energy in Denver, The Wedding Party (a wedding festival where 9 couples were married, more weddings, rehearsal dinners, several kids birthdays, a holiday party, 8th annual wine festival, corporate events, a 1st and 50th birthday, and more!
- We planned weddings & events all over Colorado and had out of state events in New York City, Louisiana, and Wyoming. Our Colorado events included Aspen, Snowmass, Beaver Creek, Vail, Steamboat Springs, Boulder, Denver, Tabernash, Larkspur and Colorado Springs.
- We planned weddings & events at private residences, at the Frick Collection in NYC, a luxury ranch in Wyoming, a historic venue in Baton Rouge, on a working farm in Steamboat, mountain ranches, a private ranch in Edwards Colorado, hotel ballrooms, mountaintops in Aspen, Beaver Creek, and Vail, and many other wedding venues!
- We planned and produced our inaugural Love Well Planned a 2- day workshop for wedding professionals.
- We worked with Ben Higgins and Dining Out Events as their Wedding Guru to plan The Wedding Party – a wedding festival where 9 couples were married at the same time!
- We had one of our busiest weekends ever with seven events!
- We continue to be active WIPA Colorado members.
- We attended Engage! Luxury Wedding Industry Conference twice this year! In Baha Mar in the Bahamas and again in October at the Rosewood in iconic London. The Engage! Community continues to be transformational for our business in so many ways and we are so happy to have found the Engage family! #becauseofengage
- Our Owner, Heather, has been providing coaching to several wedding professionals and continues to work with clients. Click here to read more about Calluna Consulting services.
- Melanie Robertz came on board from part time to Full Time Lead Planner for Calluna Events and Brand Manager for Love Well Planned. Melanie has been with Calluna for five seasons.
- We had two interns this season, Gina Yeon and Megan Dunlap, who are not both Assistant Planners.
- We hired Lindsay Hayden as a Lead Planner and Designer in December and she will officially be taking on weddings in January.
- The rest of our veterans continued as an integral part of our team. Two of our Lead Planners, Spice and Gabriele have been with us for 14 & 13 years respectively. Lead Planners Jean, Kristen, Francesca, managed weddings all over the country We are so grateful for their loyalty, experience, friendship and continuous dedication to the Calluna team!
- Our Owner Heather Dwight was interviewed on the podcast, She Creates Business about Being Your Brand.
- We planned the 9th annual Boulder Burgundy Festival and are excited to continue helping in 2020.
- We attended the Hustle and Flow Workshop in Denver this July.
- We attended the wedding planner FAM at Devil’s Thumb Ranch, one of our favorite get-a-ways of the year to one of our favorite Colorado spots.
- We attended a FAM trip to Keystone, Colorado to view their event and wedding spaces for weddings.
- We attended a FAM trip to the Montage Deer Valley and looked at their stunning property.
- We also attended a FAM trip to Knapp Ranch in Edwards Colorado and had the great fortune of planning a wedding there this fall.
- We continued our Coffee with Calluna series on our blog to talk about all things weddings, style, planning or anything you have questions about!
- We continued our Cocktails with Calluna blog series where we interview our favorite local creative partners and share tips and tricks.
- We showcased our 4th shop-local series featuring all of our favorite local shops in December, which culminated in our annual Holiday Gift Guide.
- We attended many industry events and networking opportunities such as The Knot Denver Pro and Tassles and Tastemakers Denver, to broaden our knowledge of the industry and meet new vendors.
The Applause:
- We were so very honored to be on the list of the Best Wedding Planners in America by BRIDES, which was announced in December 2018!
- We are honored to be on the List of the BizBash Top 1,000 People in the US Event Industry.
- We received the Knot Best of Weddings for the 14th year in a row! We’ve received this honor since 2007, the very first year of The Knot Best of Weddings!
- We were asked to once again be a part of the reinvigorated Little Black Book of Style Me Pretty.
- We were once again part of the Collective at Grey Likes Weddings
- We were asked once again to be a part of the Once Wed Vendor Guide.
- We were selected to be on the Blue Label list on Ruffled Blog!
- We are once again a Rocky Mountain Bride GEM Member.
- We received the Wedding Wire Couple’s Choice Award 2019.
- We’re listed as one of the Best Wedding Planners in Denver by Salonniere.
